Description
With its picturesque location on the shores of Lake Champlain, D.A.R. State Park provides an ideal setting for anyone seeking a relaxing day visit or an overnight respite. A quiet park, it is popular for its large, open campground, grassy picnic areas and stone pavilion. It is also a favorite spot for birdwatchers.
Geography:

Located in the contemporary rural agricultural community of Addison, the area is one of the earliest and most intensely settled parts of Vermont, with evidence of human habitation dating back over 7,500 years. Native Americans regularly used the greater Chimney Point area for camping, hunting and fishing (and later, village settlements) for as long as 7,000 years until Euro-American settlers arrived.

Recreation:

Excellent camping, picnicking, fishing. Horseshoes and volleyball are also available.

Facilities:

47 tent/RV sites, 24 lean-to's, restrooms with flush toilets, hot and cold running water and coin-operated showers, wood and stone picnic pavilion that can seat up to 60 people and has electricity, picnic tables and group grills. Drinking water is available throughout the park. There is a RV sanitary station but there are no hookups. No camping in or around pavilions. Camping on designated campsites only.

Alerts and Important Information
Attention: Day use hours are 10 am - sunset.
Reservations made more than 7 days in advance require a two-night minimum. One-night stays are allowed within 7 days of arrival, any day of the week. Exceptions apply.
Pets are not permitted in the day use area but are allowed elsewhere in the park, on leash.
