Description
Kingsland Bay State Park sits on the picturesque shores of Lake Champlain. Visitors can enjoy the picnic areas and historic buildings of the park, or rent a canoe/kayak for an easy paddle around this protected bay. Facilities to rent include an historic banquet hall that is perfect for large groups. Kingsland Bay State Park has become a favorite spot for local events and weddings, due in large part to the stunning backdrop of Lake Champlain.
Geography:
Much of the 264 acres, along the shores of Lake Champlain, remains as a natural area. The historic Hawley House (1790) is part of the complex. This property dates back to the first settlers in Ferrisburgh and was home to Ecole Champlain, an exclusive girls camp, until the late 1960's.
Recreation:
Excellent swimming, boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking. Canoes and kayaks are available to rent.
Facilities:
Large ADA accessible banquet hall that can seat up to 150 people with white folding chairs and white 5' round tables and adjacent space for outdoor cooking or catering. There is inside space for food preparation and serving, though there are no kitchen facilities. The Federal style Hawley House provides intimate space for small groups of up to 12 people or a space for dressing rooms for the wedding party. The wrap-around porch is a popular place for photos. The Theater Building is a rustic structure with a stage and stone fireplace that can set up to 50 people. The theater offers space for cocktail hour, dancing children's activities or changing space for the bridal party. No camping in or around pavilions or day use buildings. Camping on designated campsites only.
